Freya Zhao (Technical Director of Project XYM), and I made this series of TVPaint Pro 11 tutorials in order to help the animators for Project XYM to learn how to navigate around and get started on TVPaint. This series is tailored for our project but still very helpful for any beginners who wants to start using TVPaint for 2D animation.
We covered all the basic knowledge you need to animate in TVPaint, as well as Ink & Paint.
This series of video has successfully onboarded around 20+ animators to animate on TVPaint.
Credit to Freya who recorded all the tutorial videos, I was there only to digest and learn, as well as editing. I learned to use TVPaint from her original recordings.
EP1 - Basic Features
In this episode, we covered basic project window navigation, layers, color groups, layer features, timeline, onion skin/light table, detail brush panel, audio track, and shortcut editing. All the fundamentals you need to know for using TV Paint Pro 11.
EP2 - Coloring
In this episode, we covered the basics knowledge for you to color your shots in TVPaint. Including basic setups, closing gaps in the line art, fixing coloring issues during the shot, Speedfill tool: exclusion and eraser, and checking the coloring result.
