Editing Works

I was one of the editors for the Forza Franchise. My work has been distributed across platforms, serving paid media needs and other business use cases.

I’m native to both cinematic/storytelling needs for editing and big-buck trailer needs for video games, driving evergreen engagement for the accounts.

I’m comfortable with Adobe suites and Davinci Resolve. Combining my knowledge of editing and 2D+3D Animation / Motion Graphics, I can create ANYTHING. I can draw storyboards, model and texture, rig, and so on.

Forza Horizon 5 PS5 Launch Trailer

This is the Official Launch Trailer I edited for Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 Launch. I used existing shots from previous trailers and in-game cinematics to create a 1:09 runtime trailer that showcases the game’s quests, achievements, graphics etc.

Provided Paid Media cutdowns (15 seconds in 2 different CTAs), 16×9 / 9×16 / 4×5 / 1×1 adaptation crops and Localization AE Pack for global distribution.

An overall $2M+ campaign for Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 Launch.

A localized example for Japanese.

I was able to break down the motion graphics assets so our global team is able to maintain the same motion graphics animation while having the lines conveyed in different languages.

Tone edits

Here are some examples of tonal/conceptual edits I made, using existing footage from online sources and library music.

The tone edit serves as a concept for the actual highlight video/trailer that we want to create for certain cars or a launch campaign.

Redbull collaboration campign

Concept edit. The goal is to create a Redbull style edit that also suits our brand image.
For this video, I studied all the video pages under the Red Bull brand to gather enough footage and the idea of how RedBull edits their own media assets.

2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock

Cowboy style presentation - the theme I gave this video is “Outlaw“, to showcase how this car feels to the culture.

Final video for Dodge Challenger can be watched here.

Jordan Luka x Forza, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

The challenge for this video was to combine the basketball theme with Forza brand, plus having two games showcase in one video.

Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport have different tones. In this video, I tried to showcase FM with the premium racing aethetics, and FH with fun and diverse open-world vibe.

Sizzle Reels

Brand specific:

My philosophy for editing a sizzle reel in the Forza franchise is always to use high-energy music and cut on beats. Our games are famous for photo-realistic graphics and premium racing, so my goal was always to showcase these in the sizzle reels.

With the fast-pace social media economy these days, eye-grabbing visuals and fast-cuts are always what we aim for.

Reels (9:16)

Here are some vertical works I captured and edited for Forza.

We were really invested in short reel content to drive engagements, so sometimes we would create 9×16 works specifically for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok.

My works have 20M+ views across all platforms. I’m able to edit videos with great cinematography while aligning with marketing requests and our fanbase.

Editing Style Keywords:

  • Match-cutting

  • Vertical form cinematics

  • Side-turning horizontal assets.

Motion Graphics (Texts)

Mask-based motion graphics for branding callouts. Fully done in After Effects.

“Whip Pan” Videos

For these videos, the marketing ask was to create whip-pan-style fast edits to showcase the older car models, even though this style is often used for supercars.

I was able to set the tone for these kinds of videos and left with an editorial art direction that was reused for future reels and media assets within the Forza Franchise, including the campaign driving the Forza Horizon 6 launch.

Personal fun editorial projects

Welp, I love editing in general. So I made some fun projects in my free time over the years.

My FFXIV video.

You’d find me utilizing so many skills in this video that I don’t showcase enough for work related project. I explored graphic designs with this video, including a lot of effects.

This video was made from my FFXIV game captures with my friends, and some screenshots, some audio mixing etc.

My remix edit for Black Mirror season 1-4.

I love Black Mirror.
